Massage
Sports Massage is the application of massage and stretch
techniques to the muscle and connective tissues of the body
for the prevention of injury and to enhance health and
optimise athletic performance.
Sports Massage increases range of movement, increases
flexibility and relieves muscle soreness. It assists in
injury prevention and promotes faster recovery from both
training and injury. By palpating the tissues, the
therapist is able to locate, identify and treat areas of
specific tension within the tissues that could lead to
potential injury.
Sports Massage Therapy, although of major benefit to all
sports and exercise participants in their recovery from
training or injury, is not only for the athlete. It is also
beneficial to those with physically demanding or sedentary
jobs, as well as those suffering from the occupational,
emotional or postural stresses of everyday life.
